  • Mapping Technologies
    Meeting, Jue 2014
    Dr. Avram Primack appeared on WUVI on Saturday morning the 28th of June, 2014 to talk Christina Chanes about mapping technologies and how they might assist the Territory. Check out the WUVI facebook page for pictures.

  • GeoCAS Training
    Training Workshops, St. Croix, June 2014
    The GeoCAS center sponsored a training on the UVI campus in Saint Croix. Dr. Avram Primack and Stevie Henry traveled to St. Croix on the 24th and 25th of June, 2014 to offer a free training to staff in territorial agencies and members of the public. The training introduced methods for creating spatial data from simple tabular datasets.

  • GeoCAS Training
    Training Workshops, St. Thomas, May 2014
    The GeoCAS Institute hosted a training for the Lieutenant Governors office on the week of the 16th of June, 2014. Marisa Rivera from GMT, a Puerto Rican company that distributes ESRI software in the region conducted a weeklong training for Dr. Avram Primack, Stevie Henry, and staff at territorial agencies using the GeoCAS classroom. The training included basic and advanced features of ARC Desktop, the poular software for working with geographic information, and ARC Online, the new ESRI platform for sharing spatial data.

  • GeoCAS Opening
    St. Thomas, January 2013
    The GeoCAS Center opening in January 2013 was attended by members of the community. The opening was the culmination of a $500,000 renovation of what used to be called the Business Building. The building now houses the Environmental Analysis lab on the bottom floor and the GEOCas center and the Caribbean Green Technology Center on the upper floor.
